The Apostolate for Marital Intimacy (AMI) is a Catholic nonprofit dedicated to providing faithful, clear, and uplifting resources to help couples grow in intimacy within marriage. Originally launched as Catholic Intimacy, this mission has grown from a small personal initiative into a thriving lay apostolate supported by a team of writers, coaches, and volunteers. AMI exists to support marriages through spiritual formation, practical guidance, and professional coaching all rooted in the teachings of the Church and the lived experience of Catholic married life.
Dear Friends,
Laudetur Jesus Christus! Almost three years ago, Megan and I recognized a need in the Church for faithful, clear, and uplifting resources for marital intimacy. The name Catholic Intimacy came to me almost immediately as encompassing the core ideas behind our work. Since that night, we have poured thousands of hours and dollars into this project. There have been many times when we have thought about saying enough and closing it down, but every time we would, we would receive some sign of how God is using this work in people’s lives and marriages.
Now, although we always saw it as a lay apostolate, you can’t have a nonprofit organization with just two people. So, we formed it as an LLC. As far as businesses go, this has not been a profitable one, but it has been a fulfilling one. As many of you already know, I am in the Army. Whenever the Army decides to ship me off somewhere, all of our work comes to a halt. That happened again this past Spring, and this time, we decided to make the jump to hire someone to help me run this project. That’s when a long-time supporter, Alexander, stepped in and began contributing his brilliant articles. Soon thereafter, others joined the team.
So, for the first time since we founded this, we realized that we had enough committed supporters to finally share the burden of this mission. Thus, on the Feast of Saint James, July 25, 2025, the board had its first meeting and formally voted to found the Apostolate for Marital Intimacy, Inc. (AMI). The transition from one legal structure to the other will take some time, but already AMI is registered with the state of Missouri, and Catholic Intimacy is now one of its trade names. Over the coming weeks and months, you will see various changes on our site to reflect this new structure. Information about AMI’s founding vision, mission, the board of directors, etc. will soon be on the About page (https://catholicintimacy.com/about).
Over the years, Megan and I have seen how important this work is for so many, and that there are thousands, if not millions, more who could benefit from our services and resources. It is our hope that by this reorganization, many others will join us in carrying out this mission. So, if this work has ever helped you, your marriage, or your family, please pay it forward by helping us grow this apostolate. There are several ways that you can help:
- Pray for this apostolate: This is always the first way you can help us.
- Share: Repost our social media, make referrals, and anything else you can think of to spread the word about our mission.
- Sign up: Subscribe to our courses, now only $6.69 a month (less than a Netflix subscription). https://catholicintimacy.com/subscriptions?id=all-access-subscription
Or, sign up for an intake session with one of our skilled coaches. https://coaching.catholicintimacy.com/forms/coaching-initial-intake - Donate: Founding a nonprofit is very expensive. We are expecting almost $1k in fees and expenses for becoming a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization so that your donations will be tax-deductible. There are also many expenses involved with legally and actually taking over the many projects of the LLC. https://donorbox.org/for-faithful-and-fulfilling-romance
- Volunteer: Many hands make light work. We are still looking for volunteers to join our board of advisors, who will assist the board of directors with their diverse expertise, feedback, networking, and fundraising. https://catholicintimacy.com/jobs
We are grateful to all those who have supported Catholic Intimacy over the years, and we look forward to working alongside all those who will support the Apostolate for Marital Intimacy. May God bless you and may He reward your generosity.
